Gua Sha
A natural therapy based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Gua Sha stimulates circulation, alleviates musculoskeletal tension/pain, and can be used to stimulate specific acupressure points, depending on your individual needs.
Cupping
Cupping stimulates circulation, the flow of qi, and may relieve muscle tension. Cupping also helps decompress stuck connective tissue, thus easing tension and associated discomfort.
All add-ons include warming of the tissue with moderate pressure and final effleurage to integrate the work. These sessions are best booked as add-ons to manual lymphatic drainage sessions.
If cost is a barrier to receiving bodywork treatment, limited trade opportunities may be available if the arrangement is mutually beneficial. Contact us to learn more.

Lymphatic Drainage FAQ
-
The session requires the client to be fully disrobed, but the body will remain draped with a sheet throughout the session, with only areas exposed receiving treatment.
-
The Dr. Vodder method of lymphatic drainage is incredibly gentle and non-invasive. You should not experience any discomfort. Most clients find the experience deeply relaxing, soothing, and meditative.
-
We ask that you do not eat at least 1.5 hours before the session as every session includes abdominal work and deep diaphragmatic breathing. Please do your best to use the bathroom before the session and drink plenty of water following treatment. Avoid heavy meals or caffeine within a couple of hours before your treatment. Avoid alcohol for at least 12 hours, ideally 24 hours before your treatment.
-
You may feel a sense of lightness, relaxation, and increased energy. Some clients notice more frequent urination and elimination as the body eliminates excess fluids and supports enhanced digestive functions. Overall, if you can take it easy after your treatment, that will help your body continue cleaning itself out in the hours and evening after your session.
-
For lymphatic drainage sessions, it is strongly advised to book a 90-minute session to receive a thorough treatment that doesn’t feel rushed. If you are truly constrained with time, 75 minutes still allows for meaningful work. A 60-minute session may work for those who aren’t seeking full-body and face work and just want to target specific areas or support post-surgery healing.
-
For general health and vitality, monthly or weekly sessions are recommended for basic maintenance. If you’re experiencing any of the indications mentioned above, weekly sessions are optimal to alleviate symptoms and accelerate healing. Post-surgical clients may require multiple sessions over several weeks for optimal results. During your first appointment, we will provide a personalized treatment plan based on your goals.
